Selling our stuff

I'm off today, so I've been trying to work on the upcoming garage sale. The garage sale is coming up this Saturday. Due to the regulations of the homeowners association of the neighborhood we live in, we are only allowed to have a garage sale during the specified "community garage sale" weekends. This is usually one weekend in the spring and once in the fall. Last spring, Mike and I went through our stuff and sold off a good amount of things that we really never used and therefore, have not missed. You know, the things that accumulate in life and just get moved along with you from apartment to apartment to house...basically, clutter. Last spring we cleaned out the clutter. This round of cleaning...purging...is turning out to be a little harder. We have decided to put some of our stuff, the big furniture, etc, into storage while we travel. After all, we are not planning to travel forever and we would be taking a loss to sell the stuff and then have to refurnish an entire house later. Plus, some things are just irreplaceable. Anyway, I find my self going through our belongings wondering, "should I sell this or is it worth paying to store it?" Also, we have been trying to put a few things on Ebay. Anybody can bid on them. Look us up under ebay community. Our user name is Mikefusion. Then click on items for sale. Each sale we have, we pair down a little more of our household. I think their may be one more sale, right before we move out of the house. A moving sale where we will get rid of our TV and stereo system. I'm not ready to get rid of it just yet. I don't know how the older folks who take up the RV lifestyle are able to sell all of their things. I'm sure they have accumulated so much more plus the things from their children. I'm glad this is all I have to deal with right now.
